Welcome Reception

Cocktail Icon The Welcome Reception will be held at the Conference Hall from 20:30-22:00, after the opening Plenary Session on the evening of Monday 18th April 2005.



Conference Dinner

Chef Icon The Conference Dinner will be held at 20:00-22:30 on the evening of Wednesday 20th April 2005 in the Takaragaike Prince Hotel . A drinks reception will precede the dinner at 19:30.

Dress: smart casual

AP-1 to AP-3 available from 18 April through 21 April, starting from New Miyako Hotel next to JR Kyoto Station. These are regular sightseeing tours guided by an English-speaking guide. Please make your own way to the New Miyako Hotel. After the tour there is a free return service to the major hotels.

AP-1 Kyoto Morning Tour
Fare: JYE 5,300 Length of tour: 3.5 hours from 8:55-12:30
Visiting: Nijo Castel, Golden Pavilion, Old Imperial Palace
AP-2 Kyoto Afternoon Tour
Fare: JYE 5,300 Length of tour: 4 hours from 13:40-17:40
Visiting: Heian Shrine, Sanjusangendo Hall, Kiyomizu Temple
AP-3 Nara Afternoon Tour
Fare: JYE 6,300 Length of tour: 5.5 hours from 13:40-19:00
Visiting: TodaijiTemple, Deer Park, Kasuga Shrine
AP-4 Japanese Culture Lesson Tour
AP-4 is available only on 19 April and transfer service is provided Between the hotel and the site. Minimum number: 4 persons
Fare: JYE 10,000 Length of tour: 3.5 hours from 13:30-17:00
Visiting: private Japanese home and learn about Tea Ceremony, Flower arrangement, Origami and Kimono Wearing

The Welcome Reception and Conference Dinner are always enjoyable events - a chance to relax, meet old friends, and make new ones.

Please note that Poster prizes will be awarded at the final Plenary Session this year and not at the Conference Dinner.


Welcome Reception/Dinner

Member/Non-member Registration Fee includes attendance at the Welcome Reception and Conference Dinner. Student Registration includes the Welcome Reception only.

Additional Conference Dinner tickets can be obtained at a cost of £50 (Fifty pounds Sterling) Extra tickets available on-site only from the HUGO Desk.
